Fire Safety Talk

Class 1 had a visit from the fireman, Mr Lewis. Mr Lewis talked to the class about fire safety. He told the children that fire was hot and that it could hurt them so they needed to stay safe around fire. He told them to stay away from hot things.

He spoke about what to do if they heard a fire alarm. The children have regular fire practices at school and have a good awareness of how to stay safe in school and in their homes. Mr Lewis reminded them never to hide if there is a fire and to make sure they get out of the building. He asked them to speak to their parents/carers about staying safe in their own homes.

The children learned that the emergency number to phone if there is a fire is 999.
