Class 2 Topics Spring 2020


Class 2 topics



Dear Parent/ Carer,
I would like to take this opportunity to let you know what topics Class 2 will be covering throughout the Spring term 2020.
Literacy: In literacy the children will be studying Traditional tales, so if they would like to bring books in to share, please do. After half term they will be writing information texts about the weather linked to their learning in science and geography.  
Numeracy: The children will be learning about division and multiplication and the links that can be found in maths. They will also learn about statistics, shape, fractions and measure.
Science: This term the children will learn about animals including humans. They will look at the 5 senses and the parts of the body. After half term they will look at seasonal changes from winter to spring.
Design Technology / Art /Cookery: In art the children will be investigating materials and making a weaving. They will make puppets in DT and hot cross buns for their cookery.
 Music: This term Class Two will be looking at tempo and dynamics, as well as learning how to appraise music fairly and constructively. They will also be learning some new music for the Easter assembly.
 PE: The children will learn the skills for gymnastics and invasion games after half term. Please remember to include a jumper and jogging bottoms for the sessions after half term as the weather may still be a little cold.  
 PSHE: This term the children will learn the importance of relationships.
 RE: This term the R.E. is about Christianity. The children will learn what Christians think God is like, and about salvation through the Easter story.  
 Geography/History The children will be learning about the countries that make up the UK. After half term they will do history and learn about the Great Fire of London and its impact.
Computing: The children will learn about internet safety.  They will also learn about creating and predicting programs.
