Big Writing

Once a week the children experience Big Writing. This is a term used for an approach to writing that was pioneered by Ros Wilson.

Big Writing lessons are characterised by a ‘special’ atmosphere being created in the classroom, either by quiet music playing or the ambience of candlelight. The children are given special paper to enhance the special experience, encouraging them to enjoy the experience of creative writing.

Here you can see some examples of the children’s writing.
