Art Enjoyment Days
The school had two days of Art Enjoyment where Class 3 explored the work of the English textile designer, artist and writer William Morris. The children studied lots of his work and learnt about his life. The children created table mats in the style of William Morris, created wall paper prints and made tiles. They practised colour mixing powder paints and created fantastic artwork. Some children were selected to work with Mrs Free, experimenting with acrylic paints and recreating an art piece in the style of Van Gogh. To celebrate the children’s successful artistic achievements, the school held an art afternoon, inviting parents to view the children’s work. Class 3 would like to thank Sanderson & Co Ltd and Reeds for kindly donating samples of William Morris’s work. Also, thank you to Rose Lodge for loaning the class two William Morris style tapestries.
