Art Day 2018

 Art Day at Denver

On 24th May 2018 we had a whole day dedicated to Art. We produced art based on the work of twentieth century artists.

Class One produced work based upon the concentric circle work of Wassily Kandinsky. Class Two used the pop art images of Roy Lichtenstein to create colourful collages. Class Three drew and coloured their own versions of Andy Warhol’s Campbell Soup prints. Class Four used a piece of music to inspire them to create works in the style of Wassily Kandinsky. Mrs Free worked with a small group of children from three classes to produce paintings. They used a tracing and transference technique used by Andy Warhol.

Comments from the children included:

It was good that we used drawing and oil pastels. The artist’s work was really cool. - Luke F

It was great fun! - James P

Art is my favourite subject, it was a great day! - Evan J.

All this hard work will be used later in the year to put on an Art Exhibition showcasing the talents of the children.
