World of Work Day

On 18th February 2011 Denver School had a 'World of Work Day'.  Various members of the local community came into school to talk to the children about their jobs.  Dr Walsh represented the medical profession in key Stage 2 and Mrs Bradley in Key Stage 1.  The children really enjoyed bandaging each other up!  Rev. Nash represented the church, Mr Murphy represented finance and Miss DeVanche represented administration work.  Miss Porter came in to represent publishing as she works as an editor for the RNIB.  Mr Nicholson came in to talk about the Armed Forces as he works in the RAF and Sgt. Davidson talked about the Police Force. Last but not least Mr Redcar spent all afternoon building a raised bed, in the Foundation area, with the help of each child in Key Stage 1 who each laid a brick.
