Naming Clothing:
It is now coming to the warmer weather and children leave jumpers/cardigans on the field, so please check your children’s clothing is named as it makes it easier to match the clothing to the child at the end of the school day.
The children are continuing to do well learning their phonics and they are applying it in their reading. Please continue aim to support your child with their reading each day as this will greatly help develop their confidence and enjoyment of reading. You are welcome to change your child’s book as we do not get to hear every children read every day, so please pop in first thing in the morning to do this when required.
Now the children are more confident using their phonics please encourage them to apply this in their writing at home by writing shopping lists, notes, cards, letters, diaries and even their own stories.
The year 1 children have weekly spellings to learn at home. They have a spelling test on a Friday.
Slide and play equipment:
Due to health and safety reasons, please do not allow your children to play on the slide in the outdoor area while dropping them off or picking them up. For insurance purposes, children are only allowed to use the equipment during school hours whilst supervised!
